Digitisation
We guide our customers through all processes of digitalisation.
Once a process is digitised, it can be automated.
Digitisation is the process of transitioning to a digital form. It takes place when data and information are converted into digital formats instead of traditional methods.
Digitisation is necessary because it ensures that information can be stored more efficiently and is accessible anytime and anywhere with an internet connection. It allows companies to access the same data in different locations around the world.
Digitisation has other benefits as well, such as:
- the improvement of productivity,
- reduction of paper consumption,
- generation of new revenue streams,
- and increasing customer loyalty.
Without digitisation, the next steps of digital evolution such as integration and automation cannot be achieved.
This in turn means that without sufficient digitalisation, companies will lose their connection to the international market and their competitiveness will dwindle.
Digital into the future
We guide our customers on the path to digitisation.
There are three steps in digitisation - input, processing and output.
Input
Processing
Output
At entry, there must be a process for entering data into the computer system.
The data should be processed by a set of instructions or a function that converts it to another format for easier use.
Finally, in the output, after the given instruction has been successfully executed, the data should be presented again in its original format for understanding.
Information
Providing detailed information and planning a sustainable strategy to digitise our customers.
It is no secret that Germany plays in the midfield at best when it comes to digitalisation in companies.
There are several reasons for this and the biggest blockage is the mindset, which often starts with sentences like
"We can't change that, we've always done it that way."
In addition, governments in other countries are pushing this issue with much more vigour - and have been for several years. Thus, countries like India are far ahead of us and already engaged in the following topics such as integration, automation and AI, for which digitalisation is the fundamental prerequisite.
This has created many concerns, which we address, inform and clarify in targeted workshops.
RSG is organised internationally and uses the experience of other countries that completed the process of digitalisation several years ago.
A good example is "Digital India", a flagship programme of the Indian government with the vision to transform India into a digital society and a knowledge-based economy.
As a result, our clients benefit from international experience and do not make any rookie mistakes.
Process steps
We simplify digitisation - using the best software and international know-how.
A process consists of individual steps that are combined to achieve a defined result.
An excellent example would be the process for handling incoming mail:
Letterbox
The letterbox is emptied and the mail is opened.
Scan
The mail is scanned and stored in a digital format.
Provision
Identify the content of the letter and assign it to the department.
This example shows a process with three process steps, whereby the first step is still analogue: The incoming mail is (partly) on paper and has to be digitised.
Ideally, this step will be digitised in the foreseeable future and analogue mail will be eliminated completely - but until this digital milestone is reached, the analogue mail must be converted into a digital form so that it can be processed together with the digital mail.
The next step can then be to start integrating the systems and automating this process chain in order to relieve the manual component - the human being.
